ACR Card Frequently Asked Questions
ACR Card is an international debit card service —not a bank— for people who need to pay on sites and at merchants that don't accept their current card. It issues its own ACR Card alongside international Mastercard and VISA cards, virtual and physical, rechargeable, with a USD balance and WhatsApp support.
Below are the answers to what people ask us most, with the figures and timeframes we work with today. If something isn't here, ask us on WhatsApp before you apply.
What is ACR Card?
ACR Card is an international debit card service. It is not a bank: it does not open bank accounts or hold deposits. It issues and manages cards you can use to pay online and in stores outside your country.
With ACR Card you get an international Mastercard debit card —virtual and, if you ask for it, physical— and an international physical VISA card. You can top them up whenever you like, and support is handled on WhatsApp, with a real person on the other end.
Which cards does ACR Card offer?
There are two levels today, which differ in the minimum top-up they open with and in what they include:
- Master, the business level, designed for people who move more volume. It opens from 5,000 USD and includes international payments with no amount limit, Apple Pay and Google Pay, and a personalized card with your first and last name printed on it.
- Daily, the standard level for everyday spending. It opens from 100 USD, runs on the international VISA network and includes balance and top-ups in the app.
Do I need a bank account to have an ACR Card?
No. Applying takes four details —first and last name, ID or passport number, an email address and a phone number— and none of them is a bank account. You don't need to set up any direct debit or prove income either.
The card works with the balance you put on it: you top it up by payment link, bank transfer, cryptocurrency or cash, and spend from there. The only account created is the one on the platform where you manage the card, which lets you see your balance and transactions.
How do I get an ACR Card?
You request it through the application form on this website. You need four details: first and last name, ID or passport number, an email address you can actually access and a phone number.
Once the request is sent, we reply with the instructions to complete the creation of the card within 24 to 72 hours. Everything after that goes through that email, so it should be one you open daily.
How do I activate my ACR Card?
Activation takes place on the platform where you will later manage the card: V1 for the Master and N09 for the Daily. There are five steps and all of them go through your email.
- You send the application form. The system automatically creates your account on the platform.
- You receive an automatic email with a button to create the password for that account. If you don't see it within a few minutes, check your spam folder.
- You sign in with the same username you used when requesting the card and the password you just created.
- Once inside, you can check your balance, see your transactions, get the card details and manage the account.
- You can enter from the web version with the link in your email, or download the app from the App Store or Google Play.
Can I pay as soon as the card is activated?
Not yet. Once the card is activated you can sign in, see its details and manage the account, but you need to make the first top-up before you can start paying. That top-up is what makes balance available on the card.
How do I top up my ACR Card?
Every top-up works the same way: you choose the method, message us on WhatsApp with the method and the amount, we send you the exact details to make the payment and, once it is confirmed, we credit the balance to your card.
There are four methods available:
- Payment link, with a 3% fee. We send you the link on WhatsApp and it can be paid from a phone or a computer, by you or by a third party.
- USD bank transfer, with a 3% fee. We give you the account details and the balance is credited as soon as the transfer is confirmed.
- Cryptocurrency, with a 3% fee. We accept USDT and USDC on the supported networks; before you send anything, we confirm the exact network and address.
- Cash, with a 5.5% fee. Write to us and we arrange the top-up with you.
Can someone else top up my card from abroad?
Yes. The payment link is designed precisely for that: it can be paid by the cardholder or by a third party, from a phone or a computer, wherever they are. You tell us the amount, we send you the link on WhatsApp and you forward it to whoever is going to pay it.
The other methods work the same way: whoever makes the USD bank transfer or sends the cryptocurrency can be anyone. As soon as the payment is confirmed, we credit the balance to your card.
It is worth saying what this is and what it isn't: it is not a remittance service. It is a card top-up that someone else can pay, and that is why it carries the same fee as any other top-up.
How much does it cost to top up the card?
The fee is a percentage of the amount you top up, not a flat charge. On a 100 USD top-up it is 3 USD with any of the methods at 3% —payment link, bank transfer or cryptocurrency— and 5.50 USD if you top up in cash at 5.5%.
If you don't know which method suits you, message us on WhatsApp and we will work it out with you before you pay anything.
Where can I use the ACR Card, and does it work abroad?
It is a Mastercard or VISA debit card, so it works on the websites, in the stores and on the digital platforms that accept international cards, inside and outside your country. It works abroad for exactly that reason: it is an international-network card, not a local one. And that is precisely the product's use case: paying where your card gets declined today.
With the physical card you can also pay in store and withdraw cash at ATMs, which is usually what you need when travelling. Contactless payment is supported.
We don't publish a list of countries or merchants: it depends on each network and each establishment, not on us. If you are about to travel and want to confirm a specific case before applying, ask us on WhatsApp.
What currency is the card balance in?
US dollars. The whole product operates in USD: the minimum top-ups of each level, the top-up fees and the physical card fee are all expressed in that currency, and the top-up bank transfer is sent in USD.
If you are going to pay in another currency and want to know how the transaction would work out before requesting the card, message us on WhatsApp and we will go through it with you. We don't publish exchange rates on this page because we don't set them.
What fees does the ACR Card have?
These are all the fees and amounts we publish today, in USD:
- Top-up by payment link, bank transfer or cryptocurrency: 3% of the amount you top up.
- Cash top-up: 5.5% of the amount you top up.
- Minimum top-up to open the card: 5,000 USD on the Master and 100 USD on the Daily.
- Request for the physical metal card: 50 USD on the Master and 30 USD on the Daily, plus shipping, which is agreed with you.
Is the card virtual or physical?
It depends on the network. With Mastercard you start with the virtual card and use it online from the first moment; the physical card is optional and you request it whenever you like. The VISA, on the other hand, is physical from the start.
The physical card is made of metal and is sent to your address. Requesting it costs 50 USD on the Master and 30 USD on the Daily. Shipping and timing are agreed with you on WhatsApp before you pay anything.
How do I check my balance and transactions?
From the platform where you activated the card, and from whatever device suits you: phone, computer or tablet. You can use the web version with the link that arrives by email, or the app downloaded from the App Store or Google Play.
There you see your balance, every transaction and the card details, and you manage the account from there.
Does the card support Apple Pay and Google Pay?
The Master level includes Apple Pay and Google Pay: you link the card and pay straight from your phone, without taking the card out. The Daily level does not include it today in its specification; if that is what you need, ask us on WhatsApp before applying.
Is ACR Card a bank?
No. ACR Card is a card service, not a bank, and that is stated in the footer of every page on the site. We don't open any bank account in your name, we don't hold deposits and we don't offer credit: the money you can spend is the money you yourself have topped up on the card.
The account that is created for you is the one on the platform where you manage the card —V1 or N09 depending on the level— and it is used to see your balance, your transactions and the card details. Nothing more.
Fees, limits and shipping times are confirmed with you before you pay anything. If something on this page isn't clear, ask before you apply.
How do I contact ACR Card?
On WhatsApp, at +53 5 888 5230, which is the main support channel and where a real person replies. Also by email, at info@acr-pay.com.
It is the same channel to apply, top up, request the physical card and sort out any step where you get stuck.
