Receive Money from Abroad on Your Card
If someone outside the country wants to get money to you, no special setup is needed: they can pay for your card's top-up directly. This guide explains how it works, how much the fee is for each method and what the person sending needs to know.
The first section clarifies exactly what this is, because it is not a remittance service and it is best not to confuse it with one.
How it works, exactly
It is worth being precise, because a lot is promised here and little is delivered: ACR Card is not a remittance service. What it does is simpler, and that is why it works.
Receiving money from abroad on your card is, in practice, a top-up that someone else pays. You tell us the method and the amount, we send the payment details, the person sending you the money uses them, and as soon as the payment is confirmed we credit the balance to your card. There is no additional procedure and no intermediary account in your name.
The sender doesn't have to be the cardholder
This is the point that makes it useful. The payment link is designed precisely for that: it can be paid by the cardholder or by a third party, from a phone or a computer, wherever they are. The other methods work the same way — whoever makes the bank transfer or sends the cryptocurrency can be anyone.
All that is needed is for the person sending to have the details we give you. You can forward them yourself.
The four methods and their fees
The fee is always a percentage of the amount topped up, not a flat charge:
- Payment link — 3%. We send you a link on WhatsApp and it is paid from a phone or a computer. It is the most convenient when the sender is far away.
- USD bank transfer — 3%. We give you the account details and the balance is credited as soon as the transfer is confirmed.
- Cryptocurrency — 3%. We accept USDT and USDC on the supported networks. Before anything is sent, we confirm the exact network and address.
- Cash — 5.5%. This is also possible; it is arranged with you.
How much the fee is
On a 100 USD top-up, the fee is 3 USD with any of the methods at 3%, and 5.50 USD if the top-up is in cash at 5.5%. The math is straightforward because the percentage is flat: it doesn't change with the amount.
If you don't know which method works out best in your case, message us and we will calculate it with you before anything is paid.
When the balance appears
When the payment is confirmed. That is the moment that marks the credit, and it differs by method: a payment link is confirmed almost immediately, a bank transfer when the bank settles it, a cryptocurrency transaction when the network validates it.
We don't publish timeframes in hours for each method, because confirmation time doesn't depend on us but on the bank or the network moving the money. We give a specific timeframe at the time, for your transaction, instead of a generic figure we couldn't stand behind.
And to take the money out: ATM withdrawals
With the physical card you can withdraw cash at ATMs, which is usually what you need when the money is already on the card and you need it in hand.
What we won't promise you
To make clear what this is and what it isn't:
- It is not a remittance service and doesn't work as one. It is a card top-up that a third party can pay.
- ACR Card is not a bank. There is no bank account in your name, no deposits held and no credit.
- We don't guarantee confirmation timeframes, because they are set by the bank or the network moving the money.
- We don't publish exchange rates. The balance is in USD and the conversion, when it applies, is not set by us.
- Fees, limits and timeframes are confirmed with you before anything is paid. It is the same commitment stated in the footer of the whole site.
